How Kickline254 handles personal data when you use this website.
Who we are
Kickline254 (we, us) is a Kenyan football media project covering Harambee Stars and Kenyan football. This website is kickline254.com. For anything about your personal data, contact us at kickline254@gmail.com.
What we collect and why
You can read this website without an account, and we do not ask you for personal details to do so. Some information is collected automatically:
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how people find the site. It uses cookies or similar identifiers and records things like pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location and the website that referred you. We use this to improve our coverage.
- Server and security logs. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical data such as your IP address and the pages requested, so that the site loads and stays secure.
- Embedded video. The Shows page embeds videos from YouTube using the privacy-enhanced mode that YouTube provides. YouTube may collect information when you play a video, under its own privacy policy.
- Email. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it to reply, and we keep it only as long as we need to.
Cookies and your choices
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the opt-out browser add-on that Google provides for Google Analytics.
Who else handles data
We use these services to run the site: Vercel for hosting, Google for analytics and YouTube, Cloudflare for domain name services, and Sanity for content management. Sanity holds our articles and match information, not reader data. Some of these providers process data outside Kenya, under their own terms and policies.
Links to other sites
Our pages link to our social channels and to other websites. We do not control them, and this policy does not cover them.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 of Kenya, you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to certain uses. Write to kickline254@gmail.com and we will respond promptly and within the time the law requires. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner at odpc.go.ke.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and the date at the top will change with it.
